LASIK
(Laser
In-situ
Keratomileusis)
is an
exciting
procedure
to correct
myopia,
astigmatism,
and hyperopia. A
flap of
tissue
is created
using a
microkeratome
instrument
and then
a computer
controlled
excimer
laser is
used to
remove
part of
the cornea. These
changes
to the
corneal
shape refocus
light onto
the retina
and can
reduce
or eliminate
the need
for glasses. The
surgery
is done
on an out
patient
basis,
with most
people
returning
to work
in one
to two
days. The
best way
to determine
if you
are a candidate
for LASIK
is to schedule
a free
screening
with
Dr.Marc A. Goldberg.
